SUNNY SOUTHPORT RIDE-OUT.

Well, the weather was lovely today. Went to Southport for an ice cream (what else....) and take a test ride on the new BMW K1600GT. Sadly my ride was denied due to the "paper part" of my licence was not taken with me......bugger. What happened to the handy plastic card tucked in your wallet ??

Anyway, here's a few pics of the day.

STAR WARS REBEL BLOCKADE RUNNER.

This is the MASSIVE Randy Cooper Rebel Blockade Runner. It was the opening ship in "Star Wars" that was being chased by the Imperial Star Destroyer. Randy Cooper mastered this and made a great job. As always, resin kits demand a huge amount of time to prepare for paint and this is no exception. Plenty of pin holes to fill, seams to line up and plenty of sanding.

About 40 inches long and extremely heavy. Here is where I am up to so far. Stay tuned for updates as it reaches different stages of completion.

STAFFORD CLASSIC BIKE SHOW.

Went here today and it was amazing. Loads of classic bikes in better than new condition of all shapes and sizes. The queue to get in was mad. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger.  Here's a few pics of what was a brilliant day.

WIRRAL EGG RUN 2011.

Well, the weather held out again to make a fantastic day for the run. The annual charity motorcycle ride-out that just keeps getting bigger and bigger. This was the 31st year and in all, I have missed four. The first one had about 40 bikes and as I was too young to ride, I was a passenger. Today had in excess of 11,000 bikes and an estimate of £30,000 raised for local charities. The route was about 20 miles and went from the seaside town of New Brighton to Clatterbridge Hospital.

Here's a few pics.

FLICKr

My FLICKr page is updated VERY frequently and includes many pictures of what's going on around me.
Went to see "SUCKER PUNCH" tonight at the pictures. Visually stunning in every detail. A bit hard to grasp but an amazing film all the same.

FLICKr link to all my model work so far.

VINTAGE Z900 RESTORATION.

My friend paul has finally finished his late '70's Kawasaki Z900.

Nearly £15,000 spent on this build and perfect right down to the last nut. TOTALLY original styling and attention to detail is second to none.

EVENING RIDE-OUT TO NEW BRIGHTON.

Well summer is here for the weekend at least. Took the Hayabusa for a blast along the front and got a 99.
LOADS of coppers knocking around waiting to pounce. Off to the Horseshoe Pass in North Wales tomorrow for a meet with a load of other riders.

SUCKER PUNCH.

Off to see this at the movies this weekend. Anyone seen it yet ? It has had poor reviews and yet everyone I know who has seen it says it's a seminal picture. Zack Snyder who did 300 and Watchmen made it and those two films are amazing.

Loads of M.a.K stuff in it with obscure old planes combined with modern weaponary and amazing visuals.
Full report after I've seen it.

Have a look at the trailer, the visuals are fantastic.

WHITCHURCH RIDE OUT.

Every year about 3000 bikers go to a truck stop just outside Whitchurch for the start of the summer.
It's at the junction of the A49/A41 and it's called the Midway. If the weather is nice on Sunday, I'll get the bike out for a run to join in. Weather has got to be good though. Nothing worse than a pooh day riding on the bike.

Anyone thinking of going, it's from about 10am.

M.O.T DAY FOR THE B-KING.

Checked the log book yesterday and found that the M.O.T was due on the 30th April for the B-KING.
Put the new tax disc on and had a blast to the local bloke to see if he could fit it in. Result ! an hour later, all done and passed. Only the second bike I've owned in 25 years that's required one. Always get shut before they are due, but I love this, so it's a keeper. For the people still awake, it's a Hayabusa without any fairing. They don't sell well because they are so pig ugly and it puts folks off. Not me, I love 'em.

A couple of pics.

Putting the new disc on, then it outside the shop with the pass certificate !!! Cool.

Got nearly thirteen months now until the next one. Supposed to be nice tomorrow, so I'll get another one out for a run and hopefully some pics.

See 'ya !
